Build one outdoor scene
A forest walk, riverside pause and open beach have different details. Begin with one setting, then add only what belongs nearby. Leaves and birds fit a woodland walk; waves and distant seabirds suggest the coast. A waterfall, busy birdsong and strong wind together may feel busier than any one sound alone. A woodland walk mix
Use walk on leaves at 60%, birds at 30%, and distant church bells at 20%. The footsteps create the scene, birds add life, and the bell stays far away.
A calmer water mix
Start with river at 45%, add birds at 20%, and wind at 10%. If the water dominates, lower it before adding another sound.
Choose a time of day
Birds and light wind suggest daytime. Night crickets, an owl used sparingly, or a quiet village create a darker scene without needing many layers.
Natural does not mean silent
Waterfalls and howling wind can be intense. Use river, lake, leaves or distant birds when you want a gentler background.
